Plastic Free Status

As Plastic Free July begins we are extremely proud to announced that Project Eco has now become a Plastic Free Champion with Surfers Against Sewage. This means we have taken action to remove single use plastics from our supply chain and day to day business activities, to minimise our impact on the planet.

Single use plastics account for half of all plastics thrown away, which is around 150 million tonnes of plastic every year. More than 8 million tonnes of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year.

Every single change that we make as individuals and as businesses makes a difference.

Here at Project Eco we didn't feel it was right promoting the switch to reusable nappies without ensuring we also removed single use plastics from our business. The main area we have focused on is packaging, swapping plastic tape for kraft paper tape and plastic mailing bags for those made from sugar cane. Though we have also ensured that we only work with brands that share our ethos around protecting the planet, ensuring that all stock is shipped to us in plastic free packaging.

When you shop with us you can be assured that we care about keeping plastic waste out of our oceans, as much as you do and we are proud to receive our Plastic Free Champion plaque!

As part of Plastic Free July we will be posting on our social media channels about our favourite plastic free swaps, and we encourage you all to Choose To Refuse Single Use Plastic.

If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch via the contact us section.
